ADVANCED AROMATHERAPY - DIPLOMA COURSE

This course is for anyone interested in learning about or wanting to work with aromatherapy.  It is in four parts and gives a complete overview of aromatherapy providing a thorough foundation, including an understanding of how aromatherapy works and knowledge of how to use it.  In part one there are lessons on the origins and the key figures in the history and development of aromatherapy, and lessons on the basic botanical and chemical principles behind aromatherapy.  This is followed in part two with lessons outlining an overview of basic human anatomy, system by system, and how aromatherapy can be used to treat each organ or system, and lessons on how essential oils enter the body and how to choose and use essential oils.  In part three a lesson on massage takes you step by step through sequences for the whole body, using basic skills and techniques and focusing on the position of the hands and fingers.  There is a lesson that outlines which essential oils can be used for specific illnesses and health conditions followed by a comprehensive directory of essential oils, including information on where each oil is from, the properties of the plant from which is extracted, the method used to extract it and lists of complementary oils and most common uses.  Finally, there is a lesson on how to set up your own practice and become a successful aromatherapist

Pre-requisites:  
Students wishing to enrol on this course must hold a Practitioner/Therapist level qualification, in this subject. Those who have achieved these qualifications from training establishments, other than Luna Holistic Studies, are also very welcome to enroll on this course.

After each group of lessons, a list of related questions and answers has been provided to enable students to review their learning.

Study Hours

This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to  be completed as part of your learning review. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 168 hrs.

Accreditation

 When students have successfully passed the examination, they are issued with a Certificate that is recognised by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM) and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).
