The Angel Of Visualisation

Angels are everywhere they surround us as we eat, sleep, work and play. They are none judgemental and are here to guide us if we would only request their help. I have been asked many times do they still help even if we don’t believe in them. Well do you remember when you where a child playing make believe how your mud pies turned into a birthday cake and your den made up of old gates and pieces of old broken  wooden planks could turn into a palace. So all  you need is a little bit of child like imagination and your angels will be delighted to come on board. I am going to introduce you to the seven Angels who can help you achieve and get all you ever dreamed of.  Today is the Angel of Visualisation, the following one next week will  be the Angel of Strength and you will learn how these angels link up to turn your wish to reality.

I want a new job/home/car/husband/money? - So how are they going to help me you may ask. Well the first thing to do is start imagining what it would be like if you actually had the thing or person you desired in your life. You have to play make believe and really visualise yourself in the ideal job or home. Sit quietly for a few moments and breath deeply. Allow yourself to imagine you are living in the perfect home surrounded with lovely neighbours, see yourself chatting and gardening, see you how you furnish your house, visualise yourself actually living there and get a feeling of how your surroundings look, what colour are your walls, carpets, actually live and be in it for this moment. Then ask your angel of visualisation to help you achieve that which you desire. Now here is the most important part you have to do - really really see that home, feel it, touch it and believe you are living in, then ask and sit back. Every time you get a spare moment, go back into your dream home and get familiar with your surroundings. This way your angel will have more of a feel of what it is you want. You may notice that you start to see pictures of your home or similar in magazines and papers, or you will see the ideal kitchen. You first have to draw your dream in your imagination. Everything you can imagine can be yours, but you must first learn to let go and be childlike in your dreams and act as if its already there. It wont be long before it is and next week I will tell you about the next angel and how it will  help you to turn your visualisation into action.

ARE ANGELS REAL

ANGELS

Now, I’m the most sceptical person on the planet: I think meditation is just laziness. People who have therapy should stop being so self-indulgent and help others. In the course of my job as a journalist, I have had more ridiculously expensive alternative treatments than you could shake a water divining stick at - hot oil dribbled on my forehead in Jamaica, a man walking on my back in Puglia, a week spent munching ayurvedic food in India, kinesiology and even acupressure.

But none of these have even scratched the surface of my demeanour of unhappiness, alleviated the pain in my back and shoulders or even given me the energy to face the day.

But then my 17-year-old cat, Snoopy, became ill a few months ago. He was diagnosed with kidney and liver failure, and prescribed numerous drugs by the vet. He wasn’t improving, and so I enlisted a second opinion from a holistic vet, who prescribed herbal medicine, as well. But Snoopy became so ill (when drinking water, he would let his head fall into his bowl), my vet told me nothing more could be done. I was in despair.

Soon after, I was having a chat with a friend near my home in Somerset. She started telling me that, driving across the moor late at night, she often felt a presence in the back of her car. It was a man, and he was whistling. ‘Not a constant whistle that could have been a partially open window; an actual tune.’ But who is it? I asked her. ‘Oh, it’s my guardian angel,’ she replied.

She went on to tell me about a psychic healer, a man called Terry Shubrook, who has helped her and her many animals using angel therapy.

Despite my misgivings, I give him a call. I ask him how he got into this sort of therapy in the first place. ‘I was having treatment for an alcohol problem, and found out the rehab was in the grounds of a convent,’ he says.

‘I felt an angelic presence and, sure enough, a change came over me. It was like a switch in my head. Since then, I have been guided by what many people call intuition: that is an angel telling you something. When a thought comes into your head from nowhere, that is what you need to listen to.’

Terry says he helps people and animals. He laughs, telling me he has been at the conception of many children. ‘I had been working with a woman who was trying to conceive. During a session, an energy came down to her and I knew it was the soul of a child. Two weeks later, she rang to tell me she was pregnant.’

My inner sceptic is finding all this a bit hard to swallow.

But, when you’ve got a cat that is poorly, you will clutch at straws. I ask Terry if he can help Snoopy and he says he can.

He explains that he often works remotely, using the body of his wife to represent the body of his patient, be it cat or person: he can be many miles away, but somehow treat the patient through using his wife’s body.

He tells me Snoopy is not ready to leave me yet, and does some healing work on him, using Snoopy’s angels to tell him what is wrong (cats have guardians, too, apparently). There’s no logical explanation as to how Terry heals Snoopy. I only spoke to him over the phone and I didn’t even tell him what was wrong with the cat. He tells me he can feel its energy.

The following week, I take Snoopy to the vet to have his blood and urine tested. They are both ‘normal’.

Despite all my doubt, I am impressed, but I need more evidence. And so I contact the queen of angel therapy, a woman called, rather aptly, Doreen Virtue.

She is based in the U.S., a fourth generation metaphysician (or spiritual leader), the author of numerous books on the subject and has treated many ‘ ultra-famous movie stars’. ‘Angels have soft, feathery wings. They always talk about, and act from, love. Everyone has guardian angels who guide and protect us,’ she says.

‘The angels can’t force their help on us, however, since we have free will. We must ask for their help. Evil people don’t listen to their angels: their angels stand by with “wings tied” unable to intervene because God created us with free will.’

This all sounds a bit American, wacky and religious (none of the other therapists I speak to mention God at all). Can these beings really help us?

I speak to Jenny Smedley, who is based in Somerset and is world renowned for her ability to use angels to help people. She discovered angels when she was 45 and suffering from depression. She was on a train, had started to meditate and says she found herself in the presence of an angel.

‘The angel showed me my life path,’ she says. ‘Most of us don’t know why we are here. I was lucky to be told I was to be a spiritual seed planter. If you follow your path, that is where true happiness comes from; it can’t be taken away by outside influences.’

I start to wonder whether therapists using angels are just tapping into our anxiety about our jobs and our future, but then she tells me something, completely out of the blue.

She tells me my guardian angel is telling her that my nephew will be OK and will grow up to be some kind of ambassador. She cannot have known he has been suffering from leukaemia and, not long ago, was given a bone marrow transplant.

‘There is plenty of love to come for you. There is turquoise around your angel, which indicates that the love will come from abroad. This will be a foreign-speaking man, from a hot country,’ she says.

She says we all have angels, often more than one, and that mine is ‘very pretty’.

She says there are two types: past-life angels that give you ‘horrible nudges’ so that you will do better in the next life, and guardian angels, which direct you in your everyday life. I ask her how I can start listening to them.

She tells me to draw an image of how I want my life to be, and to write eight words around the image: these could be ‘happy’ or ‘free’. This is my own personal mantra, which I am to repeat before I get up.

As I say these words, endorphins will multiply in my brain. If anything bad happens during the day, I am to bring this mantra to the front of my mind to drive it away.

I try to do this the next morning and feel a bit daft, but in a way I do think it puts me in a good frame of mind - at the very least it makes me try to be happy.

I speak to a man who claims he has been guided by angels all his life. Horst Rechelbacher is a man worthy of respect, he is the founder of beauty empire Aveda, the first of the organic, plant-based super beauty brands. He recently sold the business to Estee Lauder for $300million.

Horst was born in Austria, a country where angels are part of the culture. ‘They are everywhere,’ he tells me from his organic farm in the U.S., ‘as statues in churches, in our town squares.’ But how does he know angels exist, and how do they help him?

He tells me that, because of his work (his mother, too, was a herbalist), he has travelled all over the world in search of healing plants and was ‘amazed how many different cultures believe in angels’.

He says he uses angels in every aspect of his business: ‘The angels help my work, my mental state. They influence my decisions. Plus, I know I’m loved. Even if we just believe we are looked after - the placebo effect - our brains will produce the right chemicals and they will help us.’

Finally, I visit Sohini Patel at the Tranquil clinic on Harley Street. She is 32, and a qualified osteopath who uses angels to help treat her patients’ physical and emotional ailments.

She says angels help her patients achieve their potential and cope with stress. She once told a woman that she should leave her partner, as he was going to be violent towards her. She later got a call from that woman, saying this had, indeed, come to pass.

Surprisingly, she tells me that half of her patients are men, mostly businessmen, stockbrokers and bankers, who not only have to learn to deal with stress, but want to know how to follow their instincts, to make good decisions.

Then she asks me to lie on her couch and begins running her hands over me, drawing the bad energy away from my body. My buttocks feel warm.

‘That is your angel, supporting you,’ she says. ‘You have to think of your angels as your team. You are never alone.’

She tells me my heart is wounded and that I need to come out of my self-imposed hibernation (I moved to the countryside after my divorce a year ago, and rarely see a living soul) and start socialising more.

So far, so predictable. Then, she says something that makes me freeze. ‘I can sense a bottle,’ she says. ‘Wine.’ I don’t tell her that I have been so depressed recently I have started to look forward to a glass of wine at six o’clock, even when I’m on my own.

My family has a history of alcoholism and I know that, if I’m not careful, I could easily become dependent, too. This is something no one could possibly know.

Sohini moves down my body, and her hands hover over my left knee. She tells me a bad spirit attached itself to that part of my body six days ago. ‘Is your sister having problems with her knee?’

Now, this is weird. Six days before, I had had a stand-up screaming match with my sister, and the resentment was still brewing. The row happened the night before my sister had surgery - on her left knee.

‘Listen to your gut instincts,’ she says, as I stand up shakily to leave. ‘Repeat the words: “Trust and relax. Trust and relax.”

‘At night, at least once a week, soak in a sea salt bath for 15 minutes. This will cleanse your body, release the energy.

‘When you go to bed, ask your angels a question. In the morning, when you wake up, you will have the answer.

‘When you hear a voice telling you the answer, say what they are telling you out
loud: it makes it more real, and you’re more likely to remember it.’

I feel as though a weight has lifted from my shoulders. My mobile goes. It is a text from a man I have been wanting to hear from, asking me out for dinner. He has just come to England from abroad (the turquoise bit Jenny Smedley mentioned). I then get some good news about a work problem.

Have I been helped by my guardian angels or do I merely think I have? Is this the placebo effect Horst was talking about? Either way, I intend to go home, soak in that sea salt bath and banish the dark thoughts that send me spiralling downwards (’Whatever you brood over will hatch,’ Jenny Smedley had warned me wisely).

I don’t know whether it was because I was vulnerable, but I do feel there is something out there protecting me, wanting me to listen. In the past, I ignored that voice all too often.

Even if the angels don’t exist, these past few weeks have taught me to remember I am a spiritual being, that I have intuition. That I have to practice being happy. For the first time in a year, I dare to feel a tiny bit optimistic.

If you are interested in learning how to contact your angels, then there are many books out there and Doreen Virtue is a specialist in this subject, however if you would like to  train to become and angel therapist then Luna Online Homestudies specialise in holistic therapy courses www.onlinehomestudies.com

RUNE STONES AND HOW TO READ THEM

Lending your runes

Once you have become familiar with your own set, I think you will find it very difficult to lend these out. To me there is something very personal about my runes. I feel that my own personality is around these stones and strangely I am very protective over them.

The Blank Rune

Again this is down to the individual. There is no evidence to suggest that there ever has been a blank rune. You can of course delve into this a little deeper if you wish; my thoughts on this are not to include it in my castings. I will however give you the meanings, as I know them, so you can make you own decision on this. But my suggestion to you is that if you happen to have a set with a blank rune then keep it and use it, as a replacement should you need to.

While others prefer to pick the runes individually out of the bag and form a spread.

Day rune - A good way to get an answer for a certain question. Simply pick a single rune each day.

There are several different spreads to choose from and I will explain a few of these later on.

Rune Diary

It is always a good idea to keep a rune diary, as It is important to keep a record of all of your readings, weather you think they are good or bad. This will also help you to become more familiar with your runes.

Rune casting

The runes have become a great source of inspiration for many, and for some they provide a guide for daily life. It is more a means of analysing the path one is on, and a likely outcome.

The future is not fixed it changes with everything we decide to do. So if you don’t like the prediction then you can always change your path. Get a FREE runestone mini course at www.lifestudys.com

Rune stone’s are an Oracle from which you can seek advice. Sometimes they may not seem clear, and this is where your own intuition will be needed. These are the times when the runes will guide you to the answers. They work best if you focus on your current situation, and ask a specific question.

You will need of-course your own set of rune stones a cloth of your choice on which to lay your stones, and one that is for this purpose only. A quiet place where you will not be disturbed is ideal.

Tarot Readings

The Tarot is more than a simple pack of cards. The pack itself comprises 78 cards which combine to form the ‘arcana’ - symbolic representations of ancient wisdom. Twenty two of these are the ‘Major Arcana’. The 56 ‘Minor’ cards are split into the four elemental suits of Earth, Water, Fire and Air.

You can learn to become a professiona reader with onlinehomestudies.com where they teach you how to read the cards from complete beginner to complete professional so you may charge for your readings and be fully confident as a reader.

Many people wonder how a deck of cards can tell us anything, but as we study the cards we realize that they go way beyond the pictures that we see. As we use the cards we gain a greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us. They represent journeys that each of us must take and lessons we need to learn and master while we are on the earth plane.

In most cases the tarot is viewed as a tool for divination. With a normal reading we have someone who seeks information and answers, usually personal questions; and then a reader who knows how to interpret the cards.

PALMISTRY

Palmistry - Hand And Finger Combinations

By: Per Hogseth

HAND AND FINGER COMBINATIONS

Before reading the palm, look at the fingers to see if they’re short or long. This isn’t always easy to gauge when you’re just beginning, but a little practice will enable you to assess the finger length at a glance.

The fingers are considered long if they can fold back and touch a spot at least seven-eights of the way along the palm. Unfortunately, there are exceptions, as some people have extremely flexible hands while others are very stiff. Also, someone with an extremely oblong palm may have long fingers that only reach halfway down the palm, as the palm itself is very long. With experience you’ll be able to look at someone’s palm and instantly know if the fingers are long or short.

The problem comes when you’re first learning and find a hand with fingers that seem to be neither long nor short. Fortunately, we can cover that situation as well.

Long Fingers

If the fingers are long, the person pays attention to detail and you can say:
“You enjoy complex work. You’re patient and enjoy all the fiddly bits – you like the details in things. Your work must be very consuming and gratifying. If it’s too simple you lose interest very quickly.”

Short Fingers

Someone with short fingers is almost the opposite. They’ll be more interested in the broad strokes rather than the details and won’t have much patience.

You could say:

“You’re always busy. Sometimes you may start something new before you’ve finished the last task. You often have several things on the go at the same time. You tend to want everything right now, so patience is not your strong suit. Your impulsiveness has gotten you into trouble in the past. In some ways you are a jack-of-all-trades.”

Medium Length Fingers

Naturally, someone with fingers that are neither long nor short will fall into a middle category.

You might say:

“At times you can be very patient. However, at other times you’re inclined to jump first and think later. If something really interests you, you want to get right down to the bottom of it and work it all out. If it’s only a passing interest, you’re more inclined to skim over it and not learn it in much detail.”

We now have four possibilities to look at:

1. Square hands with short fingers
2. Square hands with long fingers
3. Oblong hands with short fingers
4. Oblong hands with long fingers

This is the classification used in Chinese palmistry. It comes from Fred Getting’s monumental book, The Book of the Hand. The four types are named after the four elements of the ancients:

Fire, Earth, Air and Water. These relate very well to the descriptions of the Fire, Earth, Air and Water signs of astrology, but it does not necessarily mean that a Sagittarian (a Fire sign), would have a Fire hand. You’ll find people with all four types of hands in every sign of the Zodiac.

The four elements: Fire, Earth, Air and Water

Fire Hands

Fire is hot, energizing and constantly moving. It can provide gentle heat, but can also burn. Consequently it needs careful handling. A Fire hand is oblong with short fingers. Someone with a hand like this is likely to be emotional, enthusiastic and creative. The short fingers mean a dislike for detail. The long palm adds intuition.

For someone with a hand like this you might say:

“You have a great mind, full of wonderful ideas. These ideas excite you. Your enthusiasm may not last for long, but it’s extremely important to you at the time. Your emotions can be a bit hard to handle at times, but they enable you to experience life to the fullest. Details are not your strong point and you tend to prefer the overall picture to the fiddly bits. You are likely to be creative and need to be busy to be happy.”

Earth Hands

Earth is the dry, solid part of our planet. Everything that happens on earth is subject to the natural rhythms of germination, growth, death and decay. Earth is timeless and expresses stability.

However, below its surface all sorts of changes are constantly occurring. This can lead to earthquakes and other upheavals. The Earth hand is very like the practical hand. It consists of a square palm and short fingers.

People with this type of hand are reliable, down-to-earth and practical. They enjoy repetitive work and are good with their hands. They enjoy rhythm. They are conservative, reserved and possessive.
However, like earth itself, they can also react violently if they deem it necessary.

You might say to someone with Earth hands:

“You’re a hard worker. You enjoy physical challenges and your hands can think for themselves. You can be stubborn at times, and you don’t easily change your mind. You enjoy rhythm and movement. You’re not usually good with details, unless you’re making something. You probably prefer working outdoors, doing something practical. You’re reliable, honest and somewhat reserved.”

Air Hands

Air is essential for life. We take it for granted and seldom notice it, except on windy days. Air is also essential for communications, as it carries sound waves. Creatures of the air, such as birds and flying insects, are fast moving and active.

The Air hand consists of a square palm and long fingers. These people tend to use logic more than intuition. They’re quick-witted and express themselves clearly. They enjoy communicating and often have careers that utilize their skills.

Their strong emphasis on logic means these people tend to distrust emotions, both their own and other people’s.

We could say something along these lines to someone with Air hands:

“You’re intelligent, clear-thinking and discriminating. Relationships are important to you, but you sometimes find logic getting in the way of your feelings. You’re reliable and like to do things completely. You’re a stimulating companion and life is never dull when you’re around.”

Water Hands

Finally, water. If you think about it, water is essentially still. Other forces have to act upon it to make it change. It’s also shapeless as it simply moves to fill up whatever space is available.

The Moon has a strong influence on water, creating the tides in our oceans. The saying, “still waters run deep”, is very pertinent to the Water hand. The Water hand consists of an oblong palm with long fingers. It’s sometimes called the intuitive hand, as these people are extremely aware and receptive.

People with this type of hand are changeable, impressionable and emotional. They’re idealistic and highly imaginative.

To someone with water hands, you could say:

“You have an extremely rich inner life. Your imagination is keen and you fantasize about just about everything. You can be influenced by others, so you’re flexible with your ideas. Your intuition is strong. You’re emotional. If you’re interested in someone, you love spending time with them. You also need time by yourself to reflect on your own life. You are happiest inside the right relationship with someone to depend and rely upon.”
