hopi ear candling treatment - why and how?

Issues that benefit from the use of Hopi Ear Candles
Hopi ear candles are widely recognise as the most effective method of removing excess wax from the ear and rebalancing internal pressure. By doing so, a large number of conditions associated with the Ear, Nose and Throat can be treated.
Nasal and throat allergies
Technically known as allergic rhinitis, this condition is the inflammation of the membrane that lines the nose and throat. The inflammation occurs following an allergic reaction, after inhaling specific allergens such as dust or pollen. When allergic rhinitis occurs during the spring or summer it is commonly known as hay fever. Symptoms include sneezing, runny or blocked nose, irritated eyes and nose. The use of Hopi ear candles on a monthly basis may help to reduce the incidence of these allergic reactions and more frequent use of the candles, 1-2 times a week, during more intense attacks may help to reduce their severity.

•    Relief of a build up in pressure (often after flying or diving)
Many people experience the feeling of a change in pressure in their ears when flying. This happens when the eardrums bulge towards the area of lower pressure. During normal function, the pressure inside and outside the eardrum should remain equal, the Eustachian tubes help to regulate this pressure. However, when flying, the eardrum can be pushed inwards as the pressure builds near to the ground. For most people this change in pressure is easily and naturally corrected, often through the action of chewing, swallowing or yawning, but when these actions fail to right the pressure imbalances the use of Hopi ear candles may be required.

The warmth of the candles appears to help the Eustachian Tube to function correctly, this in addition to the slight suction that is applied with the candle, can help the eardrum to correct itself. Ear candling can be very beneficial for correcting ear pressure for people who have recently flown, treatment in the days after the pressure imbalance is recommended.

•    Sinusitus

The sinuses are the air filled cavities around the eyes and nose. Sinusitis is described as the swelling and inflammation of the lining of the sinuses. The condition is brought about when swelling causes the openings in the sinuses to become blocked and prevents mucus from draining effectively through the nose. As the mucus builds up, this leads to an increase in pressure and often to pain. Sinusitis is a relatively common issue and feels like a standard head cold, often with headaches, though cases can be both short term and long term. Hopi ear candles can be used on a daily basis in the first few days of sinusitis, and if symptoms persist can be used on a weekly / monthly basis in the long term.

•    Glue ear / blocked ear
The term ‘glue ear’ refers to the repeated collection of fluid in the middle ear, very common in young children. In this condition the middle ear can become filled with think, sticky, glue-like fluid and can lead to a degree of loss of hearing. When the Eustachian tube becomes blocked, often due to infection, the middle ear can fill with fluid, leading to the development of symptoms such as partial deafness and ear infection. The development of glue ear usually occurs over several months and can often go unnoticed initially. However, once diagnosed, Hopi ear candles can help to alleviate the symptoms and speed up recovery.

•    Colds
The common cold is one of the most widespread conditions throughout the modern world, with around 50% of the population of Europe and North America estimated to be affected each year. With symptoms consisting of a runny nose, sneezing, sore throat and coughing, a cold can be a great inconvenience to everyday life and often results in lost work days. Hopi ear candling, done once or twice a day, can help to clear the congestion and blockages that arise from colds and therefore to ease the symptoms.

•    Headaches & Migraines
For most people the occasional headache is nothing to worry about, but for those people that suffer from regular headaches or migraines it can be very debilitating. Hopi ear candling can help to relax the client and also to clear the sinuses and airways, helping to relieve the discomfort of headaches and migraines.

•    Tinnitus
Tinnitus is the term used to describe the condition of sounds and ringing being heard in either one or both ears. These sounds are actually formed within the ear itself and are frequently described as ringing, buzzing or whistling. Whilst the causes behind tinnitus are still unclear, any sufferers point to ear candling as being beneficial in terms of promoting relaxation.

Yin and Yang - feng shui lessons

Yin and Yang
Yin (black) and yang (white) are the harmonizing factors of the universe. They are opposing energies like day and night. Neither one is particularly negative nor positive; they are just forces that need to be in balance in one’s environment to achieve optimum peace and prosperity. Yin and yang are totally dependent upon one another and one does not exist without the other.
Yin and yang are typically portrayed inside a Tai Chi circle, which symbolizes wholeness. This symbol represents the harmonization of dualities within the universe.  Learn more about this here:

In Feng Shui, the goal is to achieve a balance between the yin and yang elements. For example, if a backyard were too hilly (too much Yang) one would want to introduce a water fountain or some plants to break up the landscape. The introduction of the Yin element of water helps to balance both factors in the landscape.  The rule of thumb is that too much of the Yin element creates an isolation and stagnation; too much Yang creates chaos, agitation and destruction.

Understanding the tarot suit of coins

Coins/Pentacles/Discs

This suit represents the material aspects of our lives - our finances and possessions, accomplishments, manifestations, business, trade, land, home, our level of abundance. The Coins also represent our bodies’ level of vitality, connection to the Earth and Nature, and our genetic heredity. Positive characteristics associated with this suit include our status in society, our personal values and our inner sense of self-worth. The Coins speak of our feelings of safety, our ability to relax and not fret or worry - to create, enjoy beauty and a zest for life. They also represent our strengths, talents, rewards for effort well spent, and social/family support networks.

Negative connotations include material loss, low self-esteem, pessimism, materialism, compromised values, stubbornness, inflexibility, and the practical concerns that make us worry.

Is it a Coin or a Pentacle?

Like the other suits, various tarot scholars have called the suit of Coins by other names. This can be confusing to the new tarot initiate, but by now you are probably becoming aware that there are different schools of thought regarding the tarot, hence people from around the globe have chosen to give different names to significant tools, including the tarot cards. Often a symbol of either a large gold coin or a golden pentacle will adorn the 14 cards in this suit.     If you read or hear someone talking about the suit of Pentacles, Discs, Cash, Gold, or Diamonds - remember, what they really mean is the suit of Coins.

This suit does not always mean “money” or “coin” per se. They can be more metaphysical than that - and instead point to inner talent or “inner gold” - the power within us to shape our own destiny in a rich and effective way.

Business

A predominance of Coins in a spread signals attention on your manifestations in life - how you manifest through intention, planning and action to shape your dreams into reality. They speak of your ability to apply your talents, knowledge and physical abilities and build your own personal little empire. The coins represent abundance on all different levels. Not just you’re bank account, but also your socio-economic status, the home you are able to obtain, the lifestyle you are able to lead, the work environment that you enjoy (or not!). They gauge your climb up the ladder of life and indicate how well you hit the mark set by your own inner self.

Reverse Cards

The Ace of Coins indicates new beginnings and gain. A reverse Ace of Coins warns about becoming too wrapped up in the attainment of wealth and possessions - to reject the “keeping up with the Jones” approach to life. Greed, possessiveness and poor spiritual awareness are also indicated by this reversed card. It warns of discontent, anxiety and insecurity.

Will I Succeed?

When coins emerge in a reading, they point to the subtle yet powerful energy that helps us succeed in the third material dimension we call physical reality. Depending on the card drawn, they suggest ways to apply the will and intent to truly follow one’s life path in a meaningful and prosperous way.

Even the reverse cards provide guidance/warnings on what to avoid in order to preserve our sense of security and safety in the world. This is of primary importance if we are to feel comfortable and motivated to try, to work hard, and to “go for the gold” in whatever enterprise we choose to apply ourselves. No matter what the focus of the reading is: whether we have questions regarding romance, love, work, family, travel, career - the suit of coins can indicate how we should apply our personal power to achieve the goal, the intent of our focus. When learning to read the tarot cards, this is important to keep in mind.

What are chakras?

LEARN ABOUT THE 7 MAIN CHAKRAS

Chakra is a concept referring to wheel-like vortices which, according to traditional Indian medicine, are believed to exist in the surface of the etheric double of man. The Chakras are said to be “force centres” or whirls of energy permeating, from a point on the physical body, the layers of the subtle bodies in an ever-increasing fan-shaped formation (the fans make the shape of a love heart). Rotating vortices of subtle matter, they are considered the focal points for the reception and transmission of energies.  Seven major chakras or energy centres (also understood as wheels of light) are generally believed to exist, located within the subtle body. Practitioners of Hinduism and New Age Spirituality believe the chakras interact with the body’s ductless endocrine glands and lymphatic system by feeding in good bio-energies and disposing of unwanted bio-energies. You can learn all about how the 7 chakras work and how when they are unblanaced it can effect both your health and spritiual being.

Are psychics be good for your health?

Can psychics be good for your health?
A phenomenon known as remote viewing, which claims to use psychic powers to ’see’ what is invisible to the naked eye, may have an intriguing role to play in healthcare

Remote chance: Lucy Pinney asks remote viewer Daz Smith to help visualise the final months of her late ex-husband’s life.
Three months ago, Twitter hosted its first scientific experiment and invited users to help demonstrate the existence of psychic powers. Professor Richard Wiseman, of the University of Hertfordshire, recruited 7,000 volunteers via the social messaging service to investigate “remote viewing” (RV). A remote viewer is a gifted individual who claims to be able to “see” events in the past, present and future, and identifying distant locations.
The psychology professor, famed for his mass-participation experiments, which explore the curious science of everyday life, travelled to a mystery site in the UK, whereupon he sent a Tweet. Participants were asked to pinpoint his location by selecting it from a line-up of five photographs. As only 15 per cent of people correctly predicted Prof Wiseman’s location – despite a 20 per cent probability – he pronounced RV to be a hoax.
Related Articles
Historically, however, governments have not been not so quick to condemn. During the Cold War, the American military spent $20 million (£12.2 million) on an RV project, conducting “psychic spying” missions against the Soviet Union for two decades. In 2001, the Ministry of Defence also investigated the potential of remote viewing, but the outcome is unknown.
Recently, Hollywood has got in on the act. In The Men Who Stare at Goats, to be released in 2010, George Clooney plays a soldier who uses his paranormal powers to track down the Iraqi enemy.
So far, so spooky – and frankly unbelievable. Or is it? The NHS is involved in an ongoing trial to establish whether RV has social and medical applications.
Andrew Usher, dean of the British Institute of Homeopathy, and a (non-clinical) partner in an NHS practice in Scotland, is working with a GP to determine if RV can save lives. Usher’s Med RV project uses a team of remote viewers around the world who try to detect illnesses that have been missed by conventional scientific and medical procedures.
The scheme has been running for just over a year. Usher, the complementary medicine consultant at Dunbeath Surgery in Caithness, says it is too early for conclusive results. “I’ve worked on 30 cases but I need at least 100 before I can make statistical correlations. RV is never 100 per cent accurate, so it could only ever be a supplementary form of data acquisition.”
Up to six remote viewers at a time are involved in a single case. They are not given any information about the patient – whose consent must be sought – other than a case number.
“One of our most impressive cases was that of a patient with bad migraines,” says Usher. “He’d been for a CAT scan, which was clear. However, the data from remote viewers showed a head with a lot of darkness, and something circular at the back of it. When we gave him an MRI scan, it turned out he had a benign brain tumour.”
Usher began looking into RV after reading in the British Medical Journal about how faith healers could benefit patients in intensive care.
While Usher says remote viewers have had surprising success in picking up on “big pathology” such as growths, he is realistic about the limitations of involving medical non-professionals. “It is hard for remote viewers to pick up cellular structures and changes,” he says. Training doctors to be remote viewers has also proved problematic, as “they tend to second-guess diagnoses”. Of more practical use are those who claim to be so proficient in RV that their skills are used by the police.
According to Usher, Britain’s most celebrated remote viewer is Daz Smith, an affable `thirtysomething’ from the West Country, who has worked on a dozen Med RV cases. He is also a volunteer for Find Me (findme2.com), a psychic missing-persons agency in the US.
Smith has used RV to visualise GPS co-ordinates and exact details of locations and crime scenes – helping police to track down lost children, as well as human remains and criminals on the run. He showed me letters of thanks for his help in finding the bodies of a missing US Army staff sergeant, and a Kansas suicide victim. “I couldn’t save these people’s lives, but I helped their families get closure on their deaths,” he says.
How is it possible to do this? The answer, says Smith, lies in a programme devised for the CIA by a psychic called Ingo Swann, who developed techniques for stimulating creativity and accessing the subconscious. “Everyone is mildly psychic and can learn to do remote viewing,” Smith says. “The training – which is lengthy, like learning a martial art – teaches you to interpret subtle gut impressions. But it’s like everything: to be world-class you do need talent.”
Smith invited me to try RV. He showed me a sealed envelope containing someone’s name. He asked me to tell him what I could about the person. I was to listen to my subconscious and scribble down my impressions. Within half an hour, I came up with a description of a slim, dark woman with children. Smith revealed that he’d really been asking me to view myself in a year’s time. I felt flattered, but manipulated.
Smith asked his internet-based team of remote viewers to help me with a specific question. Before my ex-husband died two years ago, I had discovered that he’d been unfaithful. I wanted to know if he’d had any illegitimate children. I waited more than a week for the reply. Four remote viewers came up with colourful, jerky impressions: the effect was like reading blank verse. They did not answer my question but they described my husband, scenes from his life and mannerisms with such accuracy that it made me cry.

Earlier, Smith had told me how he’d been approached by a woman whose son had vanished. His team told her that he had drowned – yet she had been hugely comforted. This story had puzzled me: how could it help to be told the worst?
Now I understood. The vivid, highly personal descriptions did help bring closure. So perhaps Prof Wiseman is wrong: in the right hands, RV can work – though it may not give exactly the answer you want.

how to use crystals for dowsing

Crystals have a perfect hexagonal molecular structure that causes them to vibrate at a constant rate. This is what makes them such good components in many modern technological items. It is thought that, when placed close to specific organs or energy points within the body, crystals will activate a vibrational response that initiates the process of balance and harmony. Crystal healing can be used to treat a variety of physical ailments including for example, migraines, digestive problems and low energy.

In addition crystal healing is often used to help mental and emotional issues such as tension, stress, depression and anxiety. Clients having a crystal therapy treatment often report how much more calm and relaxed they are afterward.

Below is an example taken from the study of crystals course:

Dowsing With A Crystal Pendulum

In order to measure the energetic flow of electro-magnetic energy around the body, it is useful to know how to dowse using a programmed pendulum. You will learn how to programme a crystal in the following lessons, but the principles of dowsing will be dealt with here.
The energy flow through the chakras is a direct reflection of the general state of being of that person. Blocks of energy in any chakra will indicate negative thoughts and actions in the area of life related to that chakra. The pendulum demonstrates how energy shifts when you have positive or affirmative thoughts. It will also give you visible evidence of the energy moving through the chakra system.
When working with subtle energy, we are always linking in to our subconscious mind and higher self. The pendulum links in to the energy coming from your higher mind. This is why you cannot use a pendulum too long, for your conscious mind and thoughts will influence the pendulum swing.
There is no power in the pendulum swing itself, so concentrate on the question and not your expected answer.

You can use a crystal pendulum to find energy patterns in a room, house or garden. By differences in the swing, you can find areas of distorted ground energy, water or ley lines (intersections of powerful earth energy).

To make a pendulum you will need a clear quartz crystal suspended from a short string or chain. You can also use an amethyst or other gem like lapis lazuli. First, practice swinging the pendulum off a short chain, allowing free movement.

To use a pendulum over a chakra centre, hold it a few inches above the chakra. To start with, hold the pendulum in your right hand, over the open palm of your left hand. The energy field coming off this secondary chakra will cause the pendulum to swing.
Ask your higher self to show which direction is positive and which is negative for you. You should always ask simple direct questions which will give a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ answer. You will discover whether the ‘yes’ answer is a clockwise or anti-clockwise swing. The ‘no’ answer will be the opposite direction.

Your pendulum may also swing up and down or sideways. You need to ask what this indicates. It may mean ‘a little’ or ‘try again’. If you are not getting a definite response it may be that you need to ask the question in another way. You can also start the pendulum swinging, as it will always change direction according to the energy it is picking up.

The woman who can see Angels

Mystic Lorna Byrne - the woman who says she can see ANGELS Geoffrey Wansell (Daily Mail) Lorna Byrne doesn’t look like a mystic. She doesn’t wear flowing robes or a turban, and she does not have a crystal ball. She is a 5ft, 54-year-old Irishwoman with porcelain skin, green eyes and shoulder-length red hair, dressed in a plain blouse and cardigan. But appearances can be deceptive. In the past year, Byrne - who says she’s seen angels from the moment she opened her eyes as a baby - has been acknowledged as one of the most remarkable mystics of modern times, with a best-selling book to prove it.

Mystic Lorna Byrne claims to have been seeing angels all her life and has turned her story into a Christmas bestseller Indeed, so great has Byrne’s reputation become that her book has sold 70,000 hardback copies in Britain and Ireland alone - and next month her fame will extend still further when the company that produced the international bestseller The Da Vinci Code publishes her book in the U.S. They paid a six-figure sum for the privilege. Cynics may dismiss her as a charlatan, the latest in a long line of soothsayers who prey on people’s desire to know their future, but Booth - who is more used to working with mega novelists such as John Grisham - is not one of them.

Though he started as a sceptic, he is now convinced that everything Byrne says and does is touched by ‘palpable sincerity and authenticity’. ‘Everything she says checks out in the Judeo-Christian tradition,’ he says. ‘I suspect there’s no one else like her in the world - no one who has the same constant access to the spiritual world.’ Booth also has a personal reason to believe in her powers. At their second meeting, the Irishwoman told him he needed an operation on his lower abdomen and he should see a doctor straight away. ‘She must have seen the panic in my eyes because she told me it wasn’t cancer or anything like that,’ he says. ‘Anyway, I went to the doctor and it turned out I had a hernia. An operation was duly done and I’m fine.’ But the episode helped to convince him that Byrne was someone very special. ‘I’m only an ordinary person’ So special, indeed, that many are predicting this softly spoken Catholic mother-of-four - whose youngest child is a teenager and whose husband, Joe, died more than a decade ago in his 40s - will become an international phenomenon, offering spiritual hope in these gloomy economic times. Not that she has made a career out of being a mystic.

Byrne kept her visions of angels to herself for many years - she saw herself as an outsider because of them - and she certainly did not share them with her parents or even her husband for many years. When she did finally tell Joe, he replied firmly: ‘This is ridiculous. Ordinary people like you and I don’t see angels.’ Indeed, she insists that she wrote her book only because Michael, an angel she’d seen since her childhood, told her to. ‘But I admitted to him that I was scared of doing so because I was afraid of being ridiculed.’ Many will dismiss her as a fantasist, but it is hard to criticise her honesty.

Byrne makes no claims for herself, beyond what she sees in her visions. In fact, when you speak to her, the first thing that strikes you is how down to earth she is. ‘I’m only an ordinary person,’ she insists, even though she says that as a baby she saw her mother surrounded ‘by wonderful bright shiny beings in all the colours of the rainbow. They were much bigger than I was, about the size of a three-year-old child. It was only much later that I learned from them they were called angels’. Throughout her childhood, Byrne was regarded as ‘retarded’ because she struggled to read. She was later diagnosed with dyslexia. But that did nothing to curtail her psychic powers. Byrne went on to have visions of the Virgin Mary and St Michael, the most senior Archangel, as well as an angel she called Elijah - even though she had no idea there was an Old Testament prophet with that name. ‘I see angels all the time I’m awake,’ she says. ‘I see people’s guardian angels - we each have one - and other types of angels, too, including archangels and cherubim. ‘They talk to me every day, help me to understand what’s going on in the world and I help them do their work among the people I meet.’ Special powers?

Lorna Byrne It sounds fanciful, I admit, but there is a streak of modest honesty in Byrne which is difficult to dismiss. This is not a woman who wants to sell you a potion or spell, rather someone who is almost embarrassed to be saying what she does. Perhaps the most extraordinary vision Byrne has experienced was a tableau of the Nativity. Her version of the birth of Jesus and the herald angels may come as a shock to some, as there is no mention of a stable, shining star, wise men or shepherds, but it is nevertheless a startling vision of the Nativity - and a novel interpretation of what it means. So, in this Christmas season, I asked her to reveal this vision, something she has never done before. It came to her more than ten years ago when her husband Joe was ill in hospital. ‘I went into the front room of my cottage to pray for him,’ she says. ‘I wanted him home for Christmas. ‘I’d often seen angels flying over houses and dropping balls of light on to them at Christmas, and I used to wonder what it meant. What are they doing?

As I started to pray that day, I could feel the angels gathering around me, wrapping themselves around me like a cloth, first softly, then tighter and tighter. ‘My eyes were open wide, but I was drifting away from this world. Then just for a split, but very frightening, second it was as if my breath had been taken away.’ Byrne then says she found herself in a different dimension, being led towards a vast stone wall by two shadowy angels. The wall was so high that it seemed to reach up into the sky and the grey stone was ’sparking with tiny dots of light of many different colours’, she says. In the middle of the wall was a great gateway, and standing guard on either side were two gigantic, golden angels, which were ‘bigger than the trees in the gardens near where I live’. As she approached, the angels began to push the doors apart. ‘Suddenly, once the gap between them was about a yard wide, there was an explosion of light and countless angels began streaming out. ‘They were everywhere, dazzling me at first, millions of them, some with wings, some without. ‘And then I saw that each one was lovingly holding a ball of light, like the ones I’d seen being dropped down into houses at Christmas. ‘Some glanced and smiled at me, but most just rushed past as if I was not there - as if they were in a hurry.’ Then Byrne found herself in the dark again with only the night sky above her. ‘But I could feel that the ground beneath my feet was soft and I began to make out a small, rounded hillside a small distance away, and set into it was a cave.’ Ushered towards it by her two shadowy angels, she realised that the cave was bigger than it had seemed at first - ‘Perhaps 20ft wide and 30ft deep,’ she says. ‘I sensed life in there, in the darkness at the back, and a small number of animals - I could smell animal life.’ ‘I felt such love and happiness’ But that wasn’t what captured her attention.

‘I saw the young woman first. Mary was standing in the middle of the cave, her head bent slightly, her long, dark hair tied with a white scarf, tending to the baby.’ What struck Byrne most was how young the woman was. ‘She was a teenager with a round, pretty, girlish face and she was concerned to make her baby more comfortable.’ The baby Jesus was lying on something that looked like a stone feeding trough with material thrown over it to make it softer, and the teenager was ‘kneeling down to put some more cloth under the baby’. It was then Byrne saw the father. ‘He was taller and much older, maybe in his late 20s. Joseph had a worn face and a dark beard, not black but dark brown, cut short and a little untidily,’ she says. ‘After a few moments, the baby reached up to catch his mother’s finger, with a little turn of the head and a smile. ‘He was a gorgeous, fine, healthy baby, but not a baby with a huge head of hair. What he had was soft and light brown.’ She says: ‘One of the first things I noticed was how long and lovely his eyelashes were - it’s the sort of thing a woman will always notice. ‘His eyes were startling, very white, the pupils dark. Everything about him was like any other baby you might see - except that he seemed to emit a gentle golden glow.’ Gradually, Byrne realised that Jesus was watching about 20 angels circling above him and his parents. ‘They were tall and beautiful, with translucent yellowy gold wings that moved gently and changed colour all the time. Their gowns seemed to flow down them all the time, like waterfalls.
