Mystery of the Human Aura Part 5

The newly born infant may aptly be called an  individualized foetus, for with the first breath the infant draws it becomes something more than a collection of chemical accretions. It becomes an individualized personality, with all the potentialities of the man or woman it will later become. As it hold in itself the potentialities of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching and smelling, so also does it hold in itself the potentialities of the electrical field called the aura, upon the development of which much of its growth and health will depend. It is significant that not until the first breath is drawn does the foetus develop the first sign of auric radiation. Whether the actual soul is connected with the foetus at the time of birth, or at the time of conception, is a detail which yet remains to be proved. We only know that with the first breath there appears round the infant the first hint of the aura, leading us to the conclusion that the aura is composed of matter, or radiation, drawn from the ether’s in the atmosphere, which, when absorbed into the system, is again radiated forth in the form known as the aura.

This infantile aura has very much the same appearance as the infinity of atmosphere perceived by the human eye when looking into the immensity of the clear sky, and we believe that it is identically the same. As a magnet attracts corresponding substances within its field of vibration, so does the human spirit draw itself some substance from the universal ether. This same substance increases in magnetic velocity and in course of time attracts other radiations which will form the adult aura.  The atmosphere is in reality colourless, yet takes on a tinge of blue be reason of its immensity. The aura of an infant is colourless at the time of its birth, but gradually, through the months of its growth, it takes on a faint silvery-blue sheen which grows more marked towards the end of the first year, when intelligence begins to manifest in definite form.

We call this aura the etheric sheath or the astral envelope, because it appears that all later developments take place within this subtle, indefinable area. This particular sheath is as indefinable as air and is rarely perceived by clairvoyants, though they may easily perceive other auric characteristics. It is the sheath known in mystical nomenclature as the garment of the soul, and such in truth it is, because it literally clothes the soul, which is expressing itself through the body of flesh in a sheath-like veil which, literally, is woven of the substance of space. Space itself may be but a garment of God, but to us it signifies the ineffable, glorious wonder of supernal Spirit, the medium by which we may most easily visualize that which cannot be visualized.

By some sects this auric garment is called the causal body, in that it appears to be the cause of all that follows int he life of the incarnate person, and, in the case of the person who develops a high degree of spirituality, this sheath glows with a supernal, unearthly radiance in which the ordinary auric vibration’s glow with the Sweet-pea delicacy of colourings. From clairvoyant observation, such an aura can be best described as a lucent bubble filled with coloured smokes, in the centre of which stands the physical body, from which these same colours stream in ever varying streams of light and shade.  It would appear the causal sheath is built by the action of breathing, therefore it must be drawn from the sun impregnated air, or the God-filled atmosphere we know as space. It is significant to note the improvement in the physique of children who, as babies, have spent long hours in the out-of-doors, in comparison with the practice, of not many years ago, of confining infants to the house on all but the finest of days, with corresponding stunting of their growth. Who can say what race of super-men and women may not be produced in the future by our increased knowledge, not only of dietetics, but also of the needs of these other bodies, which, from a purely spiritual point of view, are even more important than the physical ones? We can observe, also the effects that correct breathing , as conducted in the physical culture classes, has had upon the physique of ordinary young men and women. It appears to the author that the results are out of all proportion to the simplicity of the practice, unless we take into consideration the fact that the air is charged with the divine life force of God.

What is bipolar disorder?

What is ESP
Extra-sensory perception (ESP) refers to any phenomena in which one gains information through means other than the recognized physical senses. ESP is therefore a broad category. Though ESP has never been scientifically proven and has numerous critics and sceptics, many laboratory test results have strongly favoured the existence of ESP, and many people claim personal experience with it. Numerology is a branch of the occult which attaches meanings to numbers. Birthstones
Attributing precious and semi-precious stones and to a set of twelve objects can be traced back to the ceremonial breastplate used by Moses’ brother, a Jewish High Priest named Aaron. As described in Exodus 28, verses 15-30, the breastplate was adorned with 12 stones, one for each tribe of Israel. What is the Tarot
Tarot is a deck of cards now commonly used in ‘fortune telling’, or divination. Divination using cards is called cartomancy. The deck consists of four numbered suits like a regular deck of playing cards, and twenty two picture cards numbered one through twenty-two (in some decks, zero through twenty-one).
The cards appeared at roughly the same time as the now-universal 52-card deck, and it is a matter of dispute which came first. The Tarot deck has fourteen cards in each suit, versus thirteen for playing cards; the Tarot ‘court cards’ include a page along with the knight (knave), queen and king.

The twenty-two picture cards, now called the Major Arcana (the suited cards are the Minor Arcana), were originally permanent trump cards. That is, in a trick-taking game, any picture card would take a trick over a suit-card. They illustrate universal story themes; the Fool is a young man setting off on a journey with a pack insouciantly slung over his shoulder. He is often depicted not watching where he’s going, and about to walk off the edge of a cliff, while a small dog yaps at his heels in warning. Other cards depict concepts rather than people - the wheel of fortune is fate or karma, and the figure of Judgment is justice in all its forms.

The use of the Tarot as a tool for telling fortunes is of fairly recent invention, dating back to the end of the eighteenth century. The most familiar deck is the so-called Rider-Waite deck. The designs were by Arthur Waite, a member of the occult society Order of the Golden Dawn, in collaboration with artist Pamela Colman Smith, so the deck is sometimes called the Waite-Smith deck. It was first published by the Rider Company in 1909.

What is a Guardian Angel
People associate the idea of a guardian angel with Christianity and often more specifically with Catholicism. Actually there is some scriptural basis in Judaism for the concept of a guardian angel. Angels as intercessory occur in the book of Job. Here the idea is presented that angels can plead on the behalf of people and specifically assigned to a person to do so. Plato also talked about spirits that were assigned to humans by God, and there are many other religions in which people are watched over by a specific spirit, deity or an ancestral spirit.

In Christian thought, people get a guardian angel assigned to them when they come to earth. This angel helps to guard them and may act as messenger between the assigned person and God. The angel can pray on behalf of the person and can offer them protection.
Others believe that only children have guardian angels. The angels are then reassigned to others when the person has an adult conversion to Christ, and there are other interesting theories regarding these guides and helpers. For instance, some saints have believed that the martyrdom and suffering they must endure means they have lost their guardian angels.
Religious philosophy regarding these guides in Christianity became clearly articulated in the work of Christian theologian Honorius of Autun, though the idea of guardian angels may be traced back to the 5th century CE. In the 12th century, Honorius wrote that he believed all souls receive a guardian angel as soon as they became corporeal. Others echoed his writings like Thomas Aquinas, and then lively debate ensued on just what type of angels had this responsibility, since there are several orders and rankings of angels.
Though the idea of a guardian angel may be thought of as predominantly Catholic, based on the writing of Catholic theologians in the Middle Ages, there are other sects, like Eastern Orthodox, that espouse similar beliefs. In more secular ideology, guardian angels may sometimes be seen as a conscience or muse. They’re not only meant to protect but also to guide people away from sin or to inspire them to greatness.
A more modern interpretation of the guardian angel is that anyone can be guided by or be an angel under the right moments. A total stranger saves you from stepping off a curb when a bus is coming, or a workmate says something out of character that comforts you during a difficult time. Some people believe a person’s guardian angel guided these interventions, or that the spirit of a deity can present you with opportunities for protection and comfort from others who become momentary angels. These people may be called angels, though they don’t fit a typical theological description of them.
The common prayer said by many Christian children to a guardian angel is reflective of how numerous children are taught about these guides and intercessors. The prayer invokes the angel and says of it “to whom god’s love commits thee here.” Many people who believe in guardian angels believe that these guides are an expression of the love of God and that they are an example of the personal relationship each individual can have with God.
