Synchronicity

What is Synchronicity?

Who hasn’t experienced synchronicity in their life? Have you ever thought about someone for the first time in years, and run into them a few hours later? Maybe an unusual phrase you’d never heard before jumps out at you three times in the same day or a book falls off the shelf at the bookstore and it’s exactly what you need. Have you ever been on holiday in a foreign country, and bumped into an old friend. Or dreamt about somebody and then bumped into them a couple of days later. These are all examples of synchronicity.
Only yesterday I was having breakfast and one of my mum’s old friends Jean walked past the window the last time I saw Jean was the year before at mum’s birthday celebration. Then this morning I went for a walk around the lake, a walk we take many times and who do we bump into but Jean.
Another one this week whilst on the phone to a friend we were chatting during the conversation we were joking about and I used the phrase “it’s not you it’s me” when I finished the conversation I went back to my desk and the on the radio they were talking about break up’s and the radio presenter mentioned the “it’s not you, it’s me” line, I feel this was just a cheeky way to help me notice the synchronicities , the number 7 also comes up a lot within my family my eldest daughter was born at 17 minutes past 7 in room 7 at the hospital on the 16th October 6+1 making 7.

I do not believe in coincidences, and believe everything happens for a reason. Sometimes I just wish I knew what the reason was. I suppose whether or not you can fully grasp its meaning at the time, Synchronicity is a sign that we are intuitively attuned, not only to our immediate friends and family, but also to the greater collective. So to some, synchronistic events are just happening of pure chance, causality or perhaps sheer coincidence, the term Synchronicity originally created by Carl Jung to describe the meaningful coincidences that occur in life has been popularized by the novel The Celestine Prophecy which thrust synchronicity into the public consciousness, James Redfield says that all coincidences are significant because they point the way to an unfolding of our personal destiny.
Synchronicities are sometimes regarded as signs , observed synchronism. Much similar to déjà vu, the experience of feeling as if an event has already happened, who’s to say if it has or hasn’t  I understand that this idea as a whole may be a little out of reach, but so is the concept of time and of space, of this universe and it’s unfathomable depths, of our planet Earth and the enormous ball of burning gasses and metals that warms your face on a cool fall evening. In whatever way you look at it, this concept, like most others, is only showing how we humans go about trying to figure out ourselves, as well as this world in which we all live in.

Recently I feel I have become more spiritual within the last 6 months I have noticed more and more synchronicity in my life than I could possibly begin to explain. I can be reading a book with the radio on and read a particular word and at the same time I read it is spoken on the radio, the same with the tv a random unrelated thought pops into my head and at the same time an advert will come on ,This morning my youngest daughter discovered synchronicity she was talking to her brother and he said I have said it 6 times at the same on the radio they said the number 6 and as she looked up there was a big number 6 on a billboard all in the space of a minute, My 7 year old found this rather amusing , this leads me to believe there are synchronicities all around us we just aren’t always aware of them.
