DID WE ALWAYS DREAM?
That may seem like a silly question, but think about early man. Have people always dreamt even when the
world around them was quite simple and mundane? The answer is yes. While we cannot have definitive proof of
paleo-man, we can know that back in the Roman Era, striking and significant dreams were submitted to the
Senate for analysis and interpretation.
What did man do with these odd images that appeared during their sleep? Well, they did what we do today – tried to interpret them!
Dream interpretations date back to 3000-4000 B.C. where they were documented on clay tablets. For as long
as we have been able to communicate our dreams, we have been fascinated with them and strive to understand
them.

Spiritual Healing

Of late years a new technique of healing has made its appearance. Spiritualists and Christian Scientists have discovered a way to metaphysical healing which has yielded amazing results. Without the use of drug, knife or herb, cripples have been cured and dying people brought to the fullness of health. Certain persons have been found whose radiations are of a slightly different nature to that of the ordinary person, and disease, on coming into the area of their magnetism, becomes transmuted into health. The Spiritualist healers have performed, and still are performing, amazing cures, merely by holding their hands in the area of the aura and transmitting this curative power. By touch and by prayer this great work goes forward.

It is interesting to watch such a healer at work on a tumour or cancer, when, by certain movements of the hands in the area of the disease, the fungi-like mass of vibration becomes temporarily broken-up and dispersed into the main area of the aura, or in some cases is drawn out, by magnetic effect upon the growth, and no doubt, in course of time, deprives it of life. There are countless authentic instances of cancer cures in the annals of the Spiritualist movement.

In diseases of exhaustion, such as nervous prostration, tuberculosis, etc., the aura of the patient appears to sop up the healing vibrations, as a damp sponge may absorb water, and a corresponding brightening of the electrical field can be observed. It appears that even as the physical body radiates electricity, so also can it absorb it, either from another person, from natural sources as sun, air or water, or from machines manufactured from its transmission.

From various data the fact emerges that the human healer appears to radiate a power which is different from any other power, since cures by such means are recorded in which ordinary electrical treatment had failed to secure satisfactory results. We must, therefore, conclude that human electricity is a thing entirely individual to each man and woman, and in such healers Mr.W.T Parrish, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Steadbben, to name but a few, we see it developed and utilized to the fullness of its extent. Jesus the Christ was the greatest exponent in history of the power by which human electricity, reacting upon the aura, can produce results in the physical body. It has been said that Jesus was an amazing reiki healer.

There is another aspect of Spiritualistic healing which must receive our consideration. In many cases the cures are attributed to the power brought by discarnate personalities knows as guides, who transmit their own electrical radiations through the aura and the hands of the medium. It is interesting to watch the aura of a healer who works in this manner. In many cases the guide (the name for a discarnate personality) stands at a distance from the medium and projects what appears as rays from his own person. These rays strike the aura of the medium, causing it to acquire a new brilliancy of colouring and to increase in size. When the healer places his hands in the aura of the patient, these same rays become focussed into his hands and for a few minutes the patient, the healer, and the guide are linked into a unity by the waves of dazzling light which pass from one to another with incredible rapidity.

Rune Stones - How to read them

What are Runes
Runes are letters in a family of ancient alphabets known as runic alphabets. Runes were used as a method of communication across Scandinavia and in other Germanic nations from around the 3rd century CE to around the 13th century, when they were displaced by the Roman alphabet. Thousands of examples of runic inscriptions can be found in stones, coins, and artwork, and many Scandinavian countries also boast extensive collections of runic manuscripts. Runes are also used by some people as a tool for divination, since these individuals believe that runes have mysterious powers.
The primary runic alphabet is often known as Futhark, in a reference to its first five letters. The runic alphabet was probably derived from the Etruscan alphabet which was once in wide use in Italy, and it characterized by angular characters, with no curves or soft edges like those found in the Roman alphabet. This is common to alphabets developed during this period, since they can be readily chiseled into stone.
The word `rune’ is derived from an Anglo-Saxon word which means “secret,” or `mystery’. Writing was widely held to be mysterious by many early European cultures, since it abstracted spoken language, turning it into symbols which could be read. The runes in a runic alphabet each represent individual sounds, and each rune also has a meaning; for example, fehu, the first rune in Futhark, makes an “F” sound and it also means “cattle.”

Order your free runestone course here!
During the period when runes were used for writing, they were associated with mystery and magic as well as communication. Runic inscriptions were often added to garments, homes, and weapons to confer protection, for example. This mystery led to the displacement of runes as Christianity spread across these Germanic nations, since the Christians believed that runes were pagan. Fortunately, many extant examples of runic writing exist, for historians who want to learn more about pre-Christian culture in Europe.
Modern mystics use runes for divination, much like tarot cards. These mystics draw runes from a set to answer questions or create spreads which are supposed to predict upcoming events. Each rune has a specific meaning in the context of divination, and the interpretation of runes can become quite complex, especially when a large number of runes is used in combination. People who choose to use runes for divination would do well to recall that the history of these arcane symbols is very complex and lengthy, and the practice of magic is only a small part of it.

COLOUR THERAPY, HEALING WITH COLOR

The human body absorbs light that is made up of the colour spectrum and each colour in the spectrum has a frequency, wavelength and energy associated with it. The symptoms of disease are a sign that there is a shortage or improper utilization of colour and light in the organs and cells of the human body. This is due to many factors, such as our lifestyle, stress or too little of a particular colour frequency in our enegy system. Studies show that the colour of fruit and vegetables indicate their individual health-promoting benefits.

Complimentary colours tend to look balanced and are colours opposite to each other on the colour wheel.

This course will teach you how that by altering colours that surround us, it is possible to enhance health and well-being. Colour is simply light of varying wavelengths and as such is a form of energy. This light energy affects all living cells. Used in the right way colour can have a profound effect on all creation. Colour therapy can be used for any problem whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual for specific problems as well as an over all relaxation therapy. Colour therapy can also be used with great effect alongside other holistic therapies. It especially compliments crystal therapy.
The frequency of a wave is determined by the number of complete waves, or wavelengths that pass a point each second. The colour red has a frequency of around 430 trillion vibrations a second, whereas violet has a much higher frequency, so each violet wave would pass a given point much quicker than the colour red.

Higher frequency colours are - violet - indigo - blue

Lower frequency colour are - yellow - orange - red

Learn How to study:-

-The psychology of colour, counselling and art therapy, the colours and their meanings, colour dislikes and colour tests and finally relationships revealed through colour.

- using music with colour therapy.decor and the environment by explaining seasonal personalities and colour, the use of colour in dress, colour for the home and how it can be used in different rooms for best effect.colour and diet and what the colour of different foods stands for and how they help certain conditions

Lucid Dreaming

Solve Problems In Your Sleep With Lucid Dreaming by David Allen

Lucid dreaming is dreaming while being aware that you are dreaming. The idea is that once you are aware you are dreaming you can alter your dreams and control what happens. Once perfected, it allows you to control the direction of your dreams. This is an enticing prospect for creative problem solving since when dreaming, you are restricted only by your imagination, not by the “realities’ of physical constraints or social customs. Imagine being able to develop new ideas, chat with Einstein, or get golf tips from Tiger Woods.

Can you learn to have lucid dreams?

Lucid dreaming is like any other skill—some people are naturally better at it than others but most can learn how to do it. To learn how, it’s important to first know a bit about the stages of sleep.

Our sleep patterns follow a repeating cycle that involves different levels of sleep having different brainwave activity. Each cycle lasts about 90 to 100 minutes so a person will typically experience 4 to 5 complete sleep cycles a night. The stages of this cycle involve four levels of Slow-Wave or Non-REM sleep followed by REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep.

Although some dreaming occurs during the other stages of sleep, the most vivid dreaming occurs during the REM stage. During this time, the higher frequency beta waves keep the mind active. As its name suggests, REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep is characterized by frequent bursts of rapid eye movement, along with occasional muscular twitches. The first REM period occurs about 90 minutes after falling asleep and lasts about 10 minutes. This REM period increases in subsequent sleep cycles during the night.

How do you start?

One of the first requirements for having lucid dreams is to be able to recall your dreams. This can be done with a little practice. A good method is to focus your intent on remembering your dreams. Before falling asleep, repeat to yourself over and over, “I will awake from my dreams and completely remember them.” If your thoughts wander, try to come back to this affirmation so that it is your last thought before drifting off to sleep. Another good technique is to keep a dream journal to record your dreams upon waking. Whenever you awake, immediately attempt to focus on what you had just been dreaming and write it down on a writing pad. Try to capture all the key points, such as what you were doing, where you were, and who was around you. Also, note anything strange such as things that wouldn’t normally happen in the waking world. If you find these strange events recur in your dreams, then they are your personal dream signs which you can use to recognize when you are dreaming.

Inducing lucid dreams

Lucid dreaming is usually induced by some sort of cue—something that indicates to the person that what they are experiencing is a dream, and not reality. These cues are often referred to as dream signs. Dream signs are usually things or events that would be impossible or very unusual in the waking world. Some examples of dream signs are breathing under water, flying, light switches that don’t work, suddenly returning to work at an old job, or being naked. Whenever a dream sign occurs in your dream, stop and ask yourself whether or not it is possible. If the answer is no, you are dreaming! With practice you can learn to recognize when you are dreaming by looking for these cues and doing a “reality check”.

Once you have “caught” yourself dreaming, you can start to control your dream. Try changing the scene or situation, or controlling your own actions. In order to be successful at controlling your dreams, you should believe that what you are trying to do is possible. So it’s important to remember that you are in control and anything you want is possible. Start with some small things and gradually work up to more challenging activities.

A good resource in this area is Dr. Stephen LaBerge’s book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming which is based on his extensive laboratory work at Stanford University. However, if you really want to speed up the learning process, there are audio CDs available that enable you to experience lucid dreaming in just days. One program that has had good reviews is Bradley Thompson’s The Lucid Dreaming Kit. The kit includes an Audio Stimulation CD that you play as you go to sleep which incorporates special beats and prompts to help you become lucid when dreaming. You can also discover what your dreams mean by getting your own self help dream book.

Using Lucid Dreaming for Creative Problem Solving

Although lucid dreaming can be used for many applications, one of the most intriguing is to solve problems in your sleep. Lucid dreaming is a powerful tool that taps into your brain’s most creative state without the normal sensory distractions that disturb our focus during waking hours. Lucid dream offers the potential for truly creative thinking.

ANGELS BY YOUR SIDE

Angels By Our Side by Bonnie Moss

“Every blade of grass has it’s own little angel saying, ‘grow, grow, grow “..Talmud

Angel.

A heavenly spirit assigned by God to watch over each of us during our lives. The doctrine of angels is part of the Church’s tradition. The role of the guardian angel is both to guide us to good thoughts, work and words, and to preserve us from evil. Psalm 91: 10-12…

Angels are emanations of God, just as sunbeams are to the sun. From the moment of birth, there is an angel waiting to take its place by our side. Do they hear our prayers? Do they feel what we feel?

Angels are around us. They surround us. If we learn to seek their assistance, gladly they will come to our aid. Angels are a link between our human realm and the divine. Angels do not belong to any particular religious belief. We can not see them, but we can feel the energy that pervades in their presence.

Angels are purely spiritual beings with no physical form. When they were created, God granted them free will, immortality and divine intelligence. Their task is to sustain the universe.

The angels are free from the restrictions of time and space. They can be anywhere at anytime because they are multi- dimensional. They are not constrained nor restrained by time and space. It is believed that angels travel faster than the speed of light.

Angels are trusted with the task of looking after the whole of creation; from the animal kingdom, the plants and minerals, the planets, the earth, the wind, and stars. To every living creature, there is an angelic presence.

Angels are fascinated with man’s ability to invent and to create equipment, machinery, gadgets and toys to meet man’s needs and also for pleasure.

When we open ourselves to the angelic realm, we open ourselves to deeper spirituality and inner development. Communication with angels encourages us to develop intuitively in order to be able to decode their message. Meditation helps us to navigate through the negative blocks that hinder our inner development and our peace of mind. Meditation helps us find the path to love and joy, which is the ultimate message the angels wish to give us.

In our cluttered and harried world, we need a moment of quiet and go deep within ourselves. This is the best time to connect with the angels. They inspire us to reach for a higher level of love, peace, harmony and align ourselves with the Divine. Angels can only help us if we ask them. This does not mean that they will deny us help in moments of great need. Think of a time when you did something without thinking that actually saved you. There was an angel by your side!

Angels bring us peace and comfort. When they reach out to us, we feel the divine within us. It is a reminder that our physical selves are sacred temples of the divinity we share with our Creator.

Rudolf Steiner, a German philosopher and scientist, had a deep love and understanding of angels. According to him, angels communicate with us through images, thus we need to develop our imagination and intuition to be able to decode angelic messages.

We need to acknowledge their presence around us. Angels help us to make better choices, so that our words, thoughts and actions are in alignment with our higher selves and best interest without compromise. Angels assist us to find our deeper selves and be able to express it through creative pursuits, help us feel the joys of love, enjoy the serenity that comes with inner peace.

With a calmer state of mind, problems are not as overwhelming. We can see through the maze with clarity. Life flows.

Angels are there for us when we feel alone. Angels are there when there is no one to reach out to. Call out to an angel who’ll be there to give comfort and solace.

At times when danger is imminent, an angel is there to warn us, to protect us and keep us safe.  There is always an angel by our side.

Did my Angels come to visit?

DREAMING OR NOT? Well last night I had asked the angels to give me some guidance before going to sleep. I requested that if it was in a dream that It would  be made clear to me which was my correct path to follow.  I had been struggling between following my spiritual path to do with a new business or having to go and find work in another field which although I really didn’t want to do but was out of necessity due to bills and rent that still have to be paid. I had been using my savings up to start this new business which is involved in all things to do with spiritual and holistic. I believe so strongly in this that I and my business partner have been working many hours a day to make it become a reality, then as often happens with the ones of us drawn to our spiritual path, reality actually gets in the way. The car need repairing the rent needs paying the cat needs feeding. Well this morning I awoke and had this thoughtful dream to reflect on.  I was dreaming that I was cleaning this beautiful shiny  deep purple car - yes purple, for those of us who know this is a spiritual colour and not to be mistaken with any other - see colour therapy at onlinehomestudies.com I was cleaning this car and knew somehow that it was facing forward. Then I also saw myself typing on the computer. When I awoke I absolutely felt that I had been given a special message and if I continued doing what I have been that I would be OK and they would make sure I was going somewhere.

Now that was this morning and as we all know with our dreams things seem to fade and doubts start to appear - did I really dream that I should carry on? If so will my angels help me with my rent? Will my old car make it through its service? ( I dont actually own a shiny new purple one yet!), well just as doubt was beginning to surface, which I of all people should know better than to let in, I had a call for a Tarot reading. I have been reading the tarot for many years and although a useful and insightful tool for others, when dealing with your own you sometimes let yourself get in the way, which is why in this case I preferred to consult my angels and not my cards.

Now the lady who came for a reading to me was more than impressed with her reading, however not nearly as impressed as I was, as you will see.  For when this lady came to me she also came with angels as I will explain.  I had picked up in the reading that this lady was undergoing a spiritual change, and I felt she had been guided and had sensed or felt something she was unsure of. She then proceeded to tell me that a few months previous she had been sat at home comtemplating her last ciggarette of the night, when all of a sudden she was surrounded by angelic beings. She was in awe and could only  look in amazement as they circled round her. She had never told anyone about this as she thought they would think she was mad. As soon as she told me this story I too was in awe and knew I was meant to hear this story so that I would  have no doubts about my own angels guidance. I was also able to loan her a fantastic book on angels which I have no doubt will help her understand her vision so that she too may know the  beauty of letting angels into our lives.

So I am off to practice what I preach, to trust and believe that all things are possible and if you are ever unsure then just ask for angelic guidance they are always happy to oblige.  If you too would like how to learn or connect with your angels then check out the Angel Course on www.onlinehomestudies.com

ARE ANGELS REAL

ANGELS

Now, I’m the most sceptical person on the planet: I think meditation is just laziness. People who have therapy should stop being so self-indulgent and help others. In the course of my job as a journalist, I have had more ridiculously expensive alternative treatments than you could shake a water divining stick at - hot oil dribbled on my forehead in Jamaica, a man walking on my back in Puglia, a week spent munching ayurvedic food in India, kinesiology and even acupressure.

But none of these have even scratched the surface of my demeanour of unhappiness, alleviated the pain in my back and shoulders or even given me the energy to face the day.

But then my 17-year-old cat, Snoopy, became ill a few months ago. He was diagnosed with kidney and liver failure, and prescribed numerous drugs by the vet. He wasn’t improving, and so I enlisted a second opinion from a holistic vet, who prescribed herbal medicine, as well. But Snoopy became so ill (when drinking water, he would let his head fall into his bowl), my vet told me nothing more could be done. I was in despair.

Soon after, I was having a chat with a friend near my home in Somerset. She started telling me that, driving across the moor late at night, she often felt a presence in the back of her car. It was a man, and he was whistling. ‘Not a constant whistle that could have been a partially open window; an actual tune.’ But who is it? I asked her. ‘Oh, it’s my guardian angel,’ she replied.

She went on to tell me about a psychic healer, a man called Terry Shubrook, who has helped her and her many animals using angel therapy.

Despite my misgivings, I give him a call. I ask him how he got into this sort of therapy in the first place. ‘I was having treatment for an alcohol problem, and found out the rehab was in the grounds of a convent,’ he says.

‘I felt an angelic presence and, sure enough, a change came over me. It was like a switch in my head. Since then, I have been guided by what many people call intuition: that is an angel telling you something. When a thought comes into your head from nowhere, that is what you need to listen to.’

Terry says he helps people and animals. He laughs, telling me he has been at the conception of many children. ‘I had been working with a woman who was trying to conceive. During a session, an energy came down to her and I knew it was the soul of a child. Two weeks later, she rang to tell me she was pregnant.’

My inner sceptic is finding all this a bit hard to swallow.

But, when you’ve got a cat that is poorly, you will clutch at straws. I ask Terry if he can help Snoopy and he says he can.

He explains that he often works remotely, using the body of his wife to represent the body of his patient, be it cat or person: he can be many miles away, but somehow treat the patient through using his wife’s body.

He tells me Snoopy is not ready to leave me yet, and does some healing work on him, using Snoopy’s angels to tell him what is wrong (cats have guardians, too, apparently). There’s no logical explanation as to how Terry heals Snoopy. I only spoke to him over the phone and I didn’t even tell him what was wrong with the cat. He tells me he can feel its energy.

The following week, I take Snoopy to the vet to have his blood and urine tested. They are both ‘normal’.

Despite all my doubt, I am impressed, but I need more evidence. And so I contact the queen of angel therapy, a woman called, rather aptly, Doreen Virtue.

She is based in the U.S., a fourth generation metaphysician (or spiritual leader), the author of numerous books on the subject and has treated many ‘ ultra-famous movie stars’. ‘Angels have soft, feathery wings. They always talk about, and act from, love. Everyone has guardian angels who guide and protect us,’ she says.

‘The angels can’t force their help on us, however, since we have free will. We must ask for their help. Evil people don’t listen to their angels: their angels stand by with “wings tied” unable to intervene because God created us with free will.’

This all sounds a bit American, wacky and religious (none of the other therapists I speak to mention God at all). Can these beings really help us?

I speak to Jenny Smedley, who is based in Somerset and is world renowned for her ability to use angels to help people. She discovered angels when she was 45 and suffering from depression. She was on a train, had started to meditate and says she found herself in the presence of an angel.

‘The angel showed me my life path,’ she says. ‘Most of us don’t know why we are here. I was lucky to be told I was to be a spiritual seed planter. If you follow your path, that is where true happiness comes from; it can’t be taken away by outside influences.’

I start to wonder whether therapists using angels are just tapping into our anxiety about our jobs and our future, but then she tells me something, completely out of the blue.

She tells me my guardian angel is telling her that my nephew will be OK and will grow up to be some kind of ambassador. She cannot have known he has been suffering from leukaemia and, not long ago, was given a bone marrow transplant.

‘There is plenty of love to come for you. There is turquoise around your angel, which indicates that the love will come from abroad. This will be a foreign-speaking man, from a hot country,’ she says.

She says we all have angels, often more than one, and that mine is ‘very pretty’.

She says there are two types: past-life angels that give you ‘horrible nudges’ so that you will do better in the next life, and guardian angels, which direct you in your everyday life. I ask her how I can start listening to them.

She tells me to draw an image of how I want my life to be, and to write eight words around the image: these could be ‘happy’ or ‘free’. This is my own personal mantra, which I am to repeat before I get up.

As I say these words, endorphins will multiply in my brain. If anything bad happens during the day, I am to bring this mantra to the front of my mind to drive it away.

I try to do this the next morning and feel a bit daft, but in a way I do think it puts me in a good frame of mind - at the very least it makes me try to be happy.

I speak to a man who claims he has been guided by angels all his life. Horst Rechelbacher is a man worthy of respect, he is the founder of beauty empire Aveda, the first of the organic, plant-based super beauty brands. He recently sold the business to Estee Lauder for $300million.

Horst was born in Austria, a country where angels are part of the culture. ‘They are everywhere,’ he tells me from his organic farm in the U.S., ‘as statues in churches, in our town squares.’ But how does he know angels exist, and how do they help him?

He tells me that, because of his work (his mother, too, was a herbalist), he has travelled all over the world in search of healing plants and was ‘amazed how many different cultures believe in angels’.

He says he uses angels in every aspect of his business: ‘The angels help my work, my mental state. They influence my decisions. Plus, I know I’m loved. Even if we just believe we are looked after - the placebo effect - our brains will produce the right chemicals and they will help us.’

Finally, I visit Sohini Patel at the Tranquil clinic on Harley Street. She is 32, and a qualified osteopath who uses angels to help treat her patients’ physical and emotional ailments.

She says angels help her patients achieve their potential and cope with stress. She once told a woman that she should leave her partner, as he was going to be violent towards her. She later got a call from that woman, saying this had, indeed, come to pass.

Surprisingly, she tells me that half of her patients are men, mostly businessmen, stockbrokers and bankers, who not only have to learn to deal with stress, but want to know how to follow their instincts, to make good decisions.

Then she asks me to lie on her couch and begins running her hands over me, drawing the bad energy away from my body. My buttocks feel warm.

‘That is your angel, supporting you,’ she says. ‘You have to think of your angels as your team. You are never alone.’

She tells me my heart is wounded and that I need to come out of my self-imposed hibernation (I moved to the countryside after my divorce a year ago, and rarely see a living soul) and start socialising more.

So far, so predictable. Then, she says something that makes me freeze. ‘I can sense a bottle,’ she says. ‘Wine.’ I don’t tell her that I have been so depressed recently I have started to look forward to a glass of wine at six o’clock, even when I’m on my own.

My family has a history of alcoholism and I know that, if I’m not careful, I could easily become dependent, too. This is something no one could possibly know.

Sohini moves down my body, and her hands hover over my left knee. She tells me a bad spirit attached itself to that part of my body six days ago. ‘Is your sister having problems with her knee?’

Now, this is weird. Six days before, I had had a stand-up screaming match with my sister, and the resentment was still brewing. The row happened the night before my sister had surgery - on her left knee.

‘Listen to your gut instincts,’ she says, as I stand up shakily to leave. ‘Repeat the words: “Trust and relax. Trust and relax.”

‘At night, at least once a week, soak in a sea salt bath for 15 minutes. This will cleanse your body, release the energy.

‘When you go to bed, ask your angels a question. In the morning, when you wake up, you will have the answer.

‘When you hear a voice telling you the answer, say what they are telling you out
loud: it makes it more real, and you’re more likely to remember it.’

I feel as though a weight has lifted from my shoulders. My mobile goes. It is a text from a man I have been wanting to hear from, asking me out for dinner. He has just come to England from abroad (the turquoise bit Jenny Smedley mentioned). I then get some good news about a work problem.

Have I been helped by my guardian angels or do I merely think I have? Is this the placebo effect Horst was talking about? Either way, I intend to go home, soak in that sea salt bath and banish the dark thoughts that send me spiralling downwards (’Whatever you brood over will hatch,’ Jenny Smedley had warned me wisely).

I don’t know whether it was because I was vulnerable, but I do feel there is something out there protecting me, wanting me to listen. In the past, I ignored that voice all too often.

Even if the angels don’t exist, these past few weeks have taught me to remember I am a spiritual being, that I have intuition. That I have to practice being happy. For the first time in a year, I dare to feel a tiny bit optimistic.

If you are interested in learning how to contact your angels, then there are many books out there and Doreen Virtue is a specialist in this subject, however if you would like to  train to become and angel therapist then Luna Online Homestudies specialise in holistic therapy courses www.onlinehomestudies.com
